Peritus Electric
Implementation & Project Support

Move site questions forward with the right information

We assess the technical items that appear between project drawings, site conditions and equipment information, and help implementation decisions be taken clearly, on current documents and on the record.

WHEN IS THIS SERVICE APPROPRIATE?

Site questions and information requests are increasing

Different drawing versions are in use

There is a difference between the project and what is built

The contractor proposes an alternative product or solution

It is unclear who is to take the technical decision

Revision and approval status cannot be tracked

SERVICE SCOPE

What the technical office handles

Technical questions

Questions raised from site are clarified against the approved project and answered or routed to the party entitled to decide.

Documents and revisions

Which drawing version is valid on site, what changed in a revision and who has been informed are kept visible in one place.

Products and technical submittals

Submittals arriving during implementation are logged, checked against the approved project and routed to the responsible party; where a substantive assessment is required, the item can be referred to the relevant design or procurement service.

Decisions and actions

Every decision taken is recorded with its reference, responsible party and date, and the resulting actions are followed until the item is closed.

IN SCOPE

The work is carried out on the project documents, site information and correspondence available for the agreed scope. Information that is missing or cannot be verified is recorded as an open item and reported with the responsible party, rather than assumed.

Not everything has to be ready at the start; whatever is missing is recorded as an open item and requested as the work goes on.

  • Current electrical project drawings and their revision list
  • Open site questions and information requests
  • Site photographs or observations on the item in question
  • Product and technical submittals received from the contractor
  • Correspondence on decisions already taken
  • The parties authorised to decide and the approval route

What you receive

  • Technical question and answer record
  • Document and revision tracking list
  • Marked-up drawings
  • Notes on product submittals
  • Change and decision log
  • Open item and action list
FROM THE FIELD

An example from the site

In an office building under construction, the contractor reports that the distribution board room is smaller than shown on the drawing and asks whether the panels can be repositioned. The question is logged, checked against the current drawing revision and the site photographs, and referred to the party authorised to decide. The answer, the marked-up drawing and the parties informed are recorded together, so the same question does not return two weeks later in a different form.

SCOPE LIMIT

Within this service Peritus records, checks against the approved project and routes technical items; it does not take on the review of the design itself, the commercial assessment of a supplier or quotation, or the contractor’s quality and workmanship responsibility. Where an item requires such an assessment, it is referred to the relevant service.

Don’t leave site decisions unclear
