Ceilings, walls, furniture layouts and finishes are gone through against luminaire, socket, panel and route positions.
Electrical and mechanical
Duct, pipe and tray routes, shafts and plant room crossings are checked so that clearances and access remain workable.
Power and low current
Cable routes, cabinet locations and device positions are coordinated so that power and low-current works do not obstruct each other during installation.
Equipment and infrastructure
Connection points, foundations, entries and outdoor routes are matched with the equipment actually delivered to site.
Contractor and supplier
Who installs, who connects and who tests at each interface is written down before the boundary becomes a dispute on site.
Project and site
Differences between the drawing and what is actually built are recorded, and the affected disciplines are informed of the change.
The work is carried out on the project documents, site information and correspondence available for the agreed scope. Information that is missing or cannot be verified is recorded as an open item and reported with the responsible party, rather than assumed.

An example before the ceiling closes
On a hotel floor, the lighting layout, the sprinkler heads and the ventilation grilles all land in the same ceiling zone, and the suspended ceiling is due to be closed the following week. The affected areas are gone through on the drawings and on site, the clash points are listed with the discipline responsible for each, and the agreed positions are marked up. The revision is passed on to the other disciplines before the ceiling is closed, rather than after it is opened again.
Coordination is carried out on the drawings, site information and correspondence available for the agreed scope. The design of the systems themselves, the evaluation of suppliers or equipment, and the cost management of other disciplines remain outside this service; each contractor keeps its own responsibility for the works it carries out.
